Kotebetta Peak: Kotebetta is the third highest peak in Coorg after. This is the peak with a temple in the foothill belongs to God Shiva, This one of the highland which is surrounded by green mountains and one can take pray in the temple. The small temple located just beneath the Peak. Kotebetta means “Fort Hill” because of its fort like appearance. It measures around 1620 mts (5313 ft) and lies near to the border between the Dakshina Kannada and Coorg districts. The trek starting point is junction near by a   bridge called Hattihole. The peak is at a distance of 10km from Hattihole, here is a Shiva temple on the base of Kotebetta. Kotebetta in Coorg offers one of the best adventures. The scenic beauty that the trail showcases adds to the allure. The guided experience is for 2 days and 1 night. Reach Madikeri early next morning, freshen up and have breakfast in a local hotel. Take a bus to Hattihole and commence the trek once you are here at 9am. Beginning on an asphalted road, you gradually enter the thick forest which leads to the summit. Enroute, visit the Shiva temple, take a breather for some time and indulge in lunch. Reach Kotebetta Peak and pitch tents. Unwind for a bit and witness the mesmerising sunset. Arrange for campfire and spend some fetching moments. Sleep in the tent with the company of stars. Wake up to a beautiful sunrise. Freshen up, have packed breakfast and start descending from the peak at around 9am. Reach Hattihole and take a bus back to Madikeri. Have lunch at Madikeri. If you want to trek prepare for that with things that you need to carry, best time to visit here is October to February as clear climate exists that ideal to watch the surrounded sceneries. The Stunning landscapes, forests, distant Waterscapes and one can see wildlife. The peak visible from far away as can track the route very easily. Situated at a height of  1652 mts.
